Laetitia Felix on The Journey That Shaped Her: My Fertility Story
Share
There’s something about walking through pain that changes you. It shapes you in ways you never saw coming, marking your soul with both scars and strength. My journey to motherhood wasn’t straightforward; it was messy, painful, and filled with loss. But when I look back, I realise it’s those scars that made me who I am today, and there’s nothing I could have done to make it happen any quicker. It was all part of my journey. The healing and growth throughout the years have enabled me to embrace the life I have now.
When I reflect on everything that led me to my healthy pregnancy, it feels like a lifetime ago, yet it’s been only a few years. It’s hard to imagine that the woman I am now—mum to a beautiful girl after four years of unexplained infertility, multiple ectopic pregnancies, and an early loss—was the same woman who once felt so empty, so lost in the process. But that was me: a woman who struggled in silence, who knew deep down she would be a mum, but wondered when, and if, she’d ever feel the joy of a growing belly.
The truth is, I didn’t walk this path alone. Yes, there were doctors, therapies, my partner and friends who supported me along the way, but the real journey was the one I had to take within myself. It cracked me open in ways I never expected, making me face everything I had been avoiding—my fears, my doubts, and even the parts of me that felt broken. It made me look deeper into every corner of my being, peeling back layers I hadn’t even known existed.
It was about reconnecting with me—understanding that the answers I sought were already within. The truth is, I had to go through deep healing and growth, dismantling years of conditioning and subconscious trauma I didn’t even realise was holding me back. I had to heal parts of myself I didn’t know needed healing, reprogramming old beliefs and patterns that no longer served me, so I could finally trust my body and my path again. This experience has changed me forever—it has deepened my faith, strengthened my trust in myself & my body, and reshaped the way I see life, love, and the power of healing.
I’ve also come to realise that this journey isn’t just mine. It’s the collective energy of every woman who’s struggled with infertility, every woman who’s faced a loss and found the strength to keep going. And today, I understand their pain, their hopes, and the quiet strength it takes to keep believing. It’s this shared experience, this powerful connection, that drives my work today. I’m here to support women walking their own fertility journeys, helping them find healing, reclaim their power, and reconnect with their bodies and their dreams.
It’s not about "rising" or "getting through it" on our own—it’s about standing together, with our stories, our struggles, and our resilience. And that’s what keeps me moving forward: knowing that through the work I do, I can help others navigate their journey with more peace, understanding, and hope.
