1 February 2025: Surrender

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."

There was a time in my life when I felt like I had to control everything—my career, my future, my relationships. I thought that if I planned everything just right, I could avoid failure and pain. But the more I tried to control my circumstances, the more anxious and weary I became. It wasn’t until I reached a breaking point, when everything seemed to be falling apart, that I finally cried out to God in surrender. I had no backup plan, no solutions—just trust.

And then, something amazing happened. God provided in ways I never expected. He opened doors I hadn’t even considered and closed ones that weren’t for me. Looking back, I see how His plans were always better than mine. I had been holding on so tightly to my own expectations that I was missing out on the blessings He had for me.

Surrendering to God doesn’t mean giving up; it means trusting Him fully. It’s a daily choice to let go of our need for control and to place our faith in His perfect will. Today, whatever you are holding onto—fear, worry, doubt—place it in His hands. He knows the way ahead, and He will lead you.

Lord, teach me to surrender completely. Help me to trust that You are in control and that Your plans for me are good. Amen.
