11 February 2025: Purpose

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

At the start of a new year, many of us begin reflecting on our lives, wondering, “Why am I here? What is my purpose? What does God want me to do?” These are deep questions that often lead to anxiety, especially when we feel like we aren’t making significant progress or don’t have a clear vision of where our lives are headed.

I remember a time when I felt completely lost. I looked at others who seemed to have their lives figured out—the ones climbing the career ladder, stepping into ministry, or building beautiful families—and I wondered if I was falling behind. I prayed for direction, but instead of receiving a grand revelation, I felt like I was stuck in the same routine, doing seemingly small and insignificant things. The enemy tried to convince me that my life wasn’t making an impact.

But one day, as I meditated on Jeremiah 29:11, I had a realization: Purpose isn’t always about doing something big—it’s about being faithful in the small things. It’s about showing kindness to the stranger, loving those around us, and seeking God daily, even when we don’t have all the answers. Purpose isn’t just found in grand callings—it’s woven into the ordinary, everyday moments of life.

God’s plans for us are greater than we can imagine, but He doesn’t reveal everything at once. He often leads us step by step, shaping us through the process. If you’re feeling uncertain about your purpose, take heart—God is guiding you, even when you don’t see the full picture yet. Every act of love, every moment of faithfulness, every step of obedience is part of His plan for your life.

This January, instead of stressing over your future, trust the One who holds it. Your purpose isn’t lost; it’s unfolding, one day at a time. Walk forward in faith, knowing that God is directing your steps, preparing you for the plans He has in store.

🙏 Prayer: Lord, show me my purpose and help me walk in Your plan for my life. When I feel lost or uncertain, remind me that You are guiding me, even when I can’t see the full picture. I trust in Your perfect timing. Amen.
