4 February 2025: Obedience
Share
John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commands."
Years ago, God asked me to step out in faith and do something uncomfortable. I felt Him leading me to forgive someone who had deeply hurt me. Every part of me resisted. I had every reason to hold on to my anger and pain. But I couldn’t shake the conviction in my heart. Finally, after weeks of wrestling, I obeyed. I reached out, offered forgiveness, and let go of the bitterness I had been carrying for so long.
What I didn’t expect was the freedom that came with obedience. The weight I had been carrying for years lifted in an instant. I realized that obedience isn’t about God trying to make life difficult for us—it’s about leading us to His best.
God’s commands are not burdensome; they are for our good. Sometimes, obedience is hard. Sometimes, it doesn’t make sense. But every time we choose to trust Him and follow His leading, we step into the abundant life He has for us.
What is God asking you to do today? Maybe it’s forgiving someone, stepping out in faith, or letting go of something holding you back. Whatever it is, choose to obey. You will never regret following Him.
Lord, help me to obey You even when it’s difficult. Let my heart be quick to follow Your voice. Amen.
