7 February 2025: Purpose

Psalm 139:13-16
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

I used to think of myself as just an ordinary person—someone with a little talent, someone who tries to be kind, helps out at church when possible. But one day, it hit me: in God’s eyes, there are no ordinary people. Every single one of us is uniquely created, deeply loved, and purposefully designed.

Psalm 139 reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Even before we took our first breath, God was carefully forming us with intention. I remember my days as a nursing student, fascinated by the intricate design of the human body. I even aced my anatomy exam because I was so captivated by how beautifully God created us. And yet, beyond our physical design, we are also spiritually handcrafted by Him—woven into His plan with purpose.

It’s humbling to realize that we are so precious to God that He would give everything for us. We are not accidents, and we are not insignificant. No matter how we feel, we are known, seen, and cherished by the Creator of the universe.

Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me to see myself the way You see me—valuable, loved, and wonderfully made. Amen.
