10 January 2025: Faith

Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Faith is more than just believing—it’s trusting, even when there’s no visible evidence of an answer. It is choosing to hold onto God’s promises when everything around us seems to say otherwise. Faith isn’t about seeing first and then believing; it’s about believing first, knowing that God is always working behind the scenes.

I remember a time in my life when I desperately prayed for a breakthrough in my career. I had worked hard, put in the effort, and done everything I knew to do. Yet, nothing seemed to be happening. Every opportunity I hoped for fell through, and every door I knocked on remained closed. Doubt began to whisper, “Maybe this isn’t for you. Maybe God has forgotten you.”

I wrestled with my faith, questioning why God was silent. But one day, as I was reading the Bible, I came across Hebrews 11:1. It reminded me that faith isn’t about seeing the results immediately—it’s about trusting that God is moving, even when I can’t see it. Faith means believing that God is preparing something greater, even if it doesn’t happen in my preferred timing.

Think of Peter walking on water in Matthew 14:29. Jesus told him to step out of the boat, but Peter had to take that first step before he experienced the miracle. Faith requires action. Sometimes, it means trusting God enough to move forward, even when we don’t have all the answers. It means holding on when nothing makes sense, believing that God is still in control.

If you are in a season of waiting or uncertainty, I encourage you to keep trusting. Remind yourself of God’s past faithfulness—He has never failed you before, and He won’t start now. Even when we don’t see it, He is working. Even when we don’t understand, He has a plan.

This January, choose to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Trust in the unseen hand of God, knowing that He is leading you toward His perfect plan.

Lord, help me trust You even when I haven’t seen the outcome yet. Strengthen my faith, remind me of Your faithfulness, and give me the courage to step forward in trust. Amen.
