Two Flames Become One
Two Flames Become One
In a chat with a group member yesterday, she said, "2 candle flames remain 2 candle flames unless they become 1 flame, and then they become one bigger flame, bigger than the 2 flames they have been alone."
It was the sweetest, most inspiring thing I have heard in a long time and brought me to writing this poem.
May we all be lights in a world already filled with so much darkness.
Two candles flicker, side by side,
In shadows where their secrets hide.
Two distinct, their glow contained,
Separate paths, their light maintained.
But when the winds of fate conspire,
And bring them close, ignite a fire,
Their flames merge, their dance entwines,
In a single blaze, their essence shines.
No longer two, but one they blaze,
A brighter light, a fiercer gaze.
Together strong, together bold,
A single flame, a story told.
For when two flames become but one,
Their strength combined, their fears undone.
Two hearts, two souls, one burning flame,
Forever changed, yet somewhat the same.
Together, they are not the same,
They shine with more than just one name.
A force, a warmth, a radiant hue,
A testament to what they knew.
So let us learn from candles' glow,
That joining hands, we too can grow.
In unity, our spirits claim,
A light that sets the world aflame.
